Post no.20

Well, here I am. At last! I know, I haven't been around for a while, but now I am back.

In April we (me, my mother and some other people) travelled all the way to Prague for a couple of days. I think it was awesome and I really had a good time. Prague or Praha, the capital of the Czech Republic, is a wonderful city with a majestic history and opulent tradition of culture and art. Prague has always been a gathering-place for artists.
Not too many bad things happened there - with two exceptions. On our first day we came across a car accident and it most certainly blocked the traffic for more than just half an hour. While walking up and down the Charles Bridge (Old Town Side), the only crossing over the Vltava until 1741, I saw a tourist, a young woman by the statue of St Ann. In a few moments afterwards, she suffered an attack. It was minutes later when I found out that she has a seizure disorder; anyway, it was was horrible and I was all shocked, too. Even later, while sitting in a café, I couldn't get it out of my head.
We saw many, many interesting things in the city itself; for example, we had a chance to visit the Prague Castle and Hradčany - there we visited the famous Golden Lane, one of the three historic streets (Golden Lane, New World and Pohorelec). We also stepped inside the St Vitus's Cathedral, the city's most distinctive landmark.
On our last day of staying in Czech Republic, we spent the night in a lovely hotel, named Zlatá hvězda, which is located in a small town Třeboň. We had a traditional Czech dish, Uzené - 'Smoked pork is mostly served with slices of potato dumplings (bramborové knedlíky) and white sauerkraut'.

I took exactly ninety-eight photos; you can see some of them here. I'm going home now. Have a nice day!
